Little Venice

It is one of Bamberg most popular motifs, portrayed on thousands of postcards and at the same time an important part of the city´s history: Little Venice. Klein Venedig (literally translated “Little Venice”) was first named by two journalists in 1842, in the book “Handbook for travelers on the Moon”. Little Venice has very little in common with the famous Italian namesake, but the picturesque fishermen´s houses on the river Regnitz are definitely worth a visit.
