Princes' Gate

On the north side of the Cathedral of Bamberg is the so-called Prince's Portal. In the past, its use was only permitted to high ecclesiastical dignitaries, such as the bishop or vicars. This exclusivity earned him his name in the 18th century.

The Prince's Portalalso has rich decorations from the 13th century, e.g. the representation of the world court above the lintel.
